Fishers came into Saturday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past the New Castle Trojans 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Fishers who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-16, 19-25, 15-8.

Fishers' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caitlyn Gutt led the charge by getting six digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Brinkruff, who had ten digs and two assists.

When it comes to explaining why New Castle lost on Saturday, don't look at Emily Luce. Despite the final result, she had ten digs and one assist. Luce is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.

Fishers' win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for New Castle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-5.

Fishers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Hamilton Southeastern on the 20th. As for New Castle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Plainfield on the 20th.
