Indiana School for the Deaf unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 20-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri-State Crusaders King's Crusaders on Saturday.
Tri-State Crusaders got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Donovan Sproul out in front who rushed for 69 yards and one score on only eight carries, and also picked up 97 receiving yards. Sproul got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 54 yards. Elias Kroeker was another key back, rushing for 80 yards and one TD.
Looking ahead, Indiana School for the Deaf will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Model Secondary School for the Deaf at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tri-State Crusaders, they will face off against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
