The Pickerington North Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, Pickerington North got the win against Bishop Hartley by a conclusive 16-6. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Julia Deely was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Sammy Morris was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Pickerington North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bloom-Carroll). They never let South get on the board and left with a 26-0 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for Bloom-Carroll, who have now won 16 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Madelyn Gates was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Brenlynn Morris also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Pickerington North's record now sits at 11-15. As for Bloom-Carroll, their record is now 21-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Pickerington North hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bloom-Carroll struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Pickerington North was able to grind out a solid win over Bloom-Carroll in their previous meeting back in March of 2019, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
