The Middleton Vikings will be home for the holidays to greet the Mountain View Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Middleton has four straight victories, Mountain View has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Saturday, Middleton was able to grind out a solid victory over Timberline, taking the game 45-35.
Middleton relied on the efforts of Miley Steele, who scored nine points along with three blocks, and Zoey Blackwell, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Blackwell's third in a row with at least ten points. Aysha Fried was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Mountain View took a serious blow against Owyhee on Thursday, falling 62-34. Mountain View has not had much luck with Owyhee recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Middleton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Mountain View, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Everything came up roses for Middleton against Mountain View when the teams last played two weeks ago as the team secured a 70-20 win. With Middleton ahead 35-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
