The Hun Raiders are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Hill School Rams. Everything went Hun's way against the Rams as the Raiders made off with a 64-43 victory. The win was just what Hun needed coming off of a 88-40 loss in their prior contest.
Leading Hun to victory were Amira Pinkett and Gabby D'Agostino. Pinkett dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, while D'Agostino scored 27 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which D'Agostino has scored at least a third of Hun's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Jolly, who scored four points along with four steals.
Hill School's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Soller, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Kayleigh Ludwig was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Hun's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-11. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Hill School, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
Coincidentally, Hun and the Rams will both be playing the Blue Storm the next time they take the court. Hill School will head out to face Mercersburg Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Hun will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
