Topsail extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They had to suffer through a 52-12 loss at the hands of the Hoggard Vikings. Topsail didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Luca Van Der Lee and Logan Stephenson. Another thorn in Hoggard's side was Preston Plunkett, who forced one fumble and made 17 total tackles.
As for Hoggard, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 38.6 points this season.
Leading Hoggard to victory were David Hunter and Matthew Boring. Hunter gained 158 total yards and three touchdowns, while Boring rushed for 59 yards and three TDs on only seven carries. The dominant performance also gave Hunter a new career-high in rushing yards (126). Hoggard also got help from Micah Hunter, who showed off his sure hands for 95 receiving yards.
