Even though the Quinter Bulldogs have not done well against the Hill City Ringnecks recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Quinter snuck past Hill City with a 50-44 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Quinter.
Luke Packard was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shea Salyers, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Quinter's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Hill City, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
Quinter will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dighton at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Dighton will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. Hill City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Trego on January 5, 2024. Trego will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Hill City is ranked 97th).
