Not much got past Madyson Herrera, who gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Exeter off the board. Herrera has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Chavez saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was DIANA MAGANA, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Alexis Elizondo was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Dos Palos made easy work of Sierra on Friday and carried off an 11-1 win. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.
Breann Raney made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Raney was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Liliana DelaRosa was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Athena Correa, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Dos Palos pushed their record up to 17-8-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Chavez, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.
Chavez suffered a grim 13-4 defeat to Dos Palos when the teams last played back in March of 2015. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
