There's no place like home for The Williams Field Black Hawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road back in November of 2022. They secured a 47-43 W over Gilbert on Saturday. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Williams Field's nine-point performance the matchup before.
Gilbert's loss came despite strong showings from Torrey Gray and Talan Young. Gray threw for 69 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, while Young rushed for 82 yards. Nolan Baumgarten did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and two extra points.
Even if they lost, Gilbert's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 13 sacks. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Williams Field's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Gilbert, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Williams Field does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gilbert will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyline at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Skyline is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
