The Boulder City Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Pirate at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Boulder City and seven for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon.
While Boulder City couldn't quite beat Sports Leadership & Management on Tuesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 34-point defeat they were dealt on Thursday. Boulder City fell just short of Sports Leadership & Management by a score of 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Boulder City has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Boulder City got a solid performance out of Julia Carmichael, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. Addie Doane was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon suffered their biggest defeat since November 25, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 55-10 loss at the hands of Pahrump Valley. While losing is never fun, Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Pahrump Valley is ranked seventh).
Boulder City has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Everything came up roses for Boulder City against Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 63-14 win. With Boulder City ahead 35-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
