Basketball Recap: George Washington Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jordan Dotson and Jeremiah Trimm

George Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 76-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rock Canyon Jaguars. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 62-35 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, George Washington had strong showings from Jeremiah Trimm, who went 11 of 17 en route to 28 points and seven rebounds, and Jordan Dotson, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 18 points and seven boards. With that strong performance, Trimm is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Tre Borne, who posted three points along with six boards and five assists.

Rock Canyon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob David, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points. David's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kai Valentine was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

George Washington's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Rock Canyon, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-7.

George Washington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-59 defeat against Rangeview on the 22nd. Rock Canyon has also already played their next game, a 70-65 loss against Chaparral on the 24th.
