The Leesburg Yellow Jackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Lake Weir Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Leesburg had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt South Sumter on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 3-0 victory. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 12, 2023, but that streak is no more.
The win didn't come easy: South Sumter scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 25-20.

That's the most digs Snyder has posted over her last six contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Valentina Borts, who had eight kills, eight digs, and three aces.
Meanwhile, Lake Weir sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over North Marion on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won four in a row.
Lake Weir had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-14, 15-8.
Leesburg's record is now 8-6. As for Lake Weir, their record now sits at 8-5.
Leesburg came up short against Lake Weir in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
