Livingston is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Yellowjackets a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Livingston Wolves will take on the Hilmar Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 82-54, which was the final score in Livingston's tilt against the Cougars on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Livingston in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost five in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Imanol Gutierrez, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Aguirre, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Hilmar was the victim of a rough 62-37 defeat at the hands of the Knights on Friday. While losing is never fun, Hilmar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1116th, while the Knights are ranked 290th).
Livingston has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Hilmar, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-21.
Livingston strolled past the Yellowjackets in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 69-52. Will Livingston repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
