Robert Mcdaniel Turns in Season-Best Performance
Hughson was led to victory by Robert Mcdaniel, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Mcdaniel wasn't messing around, throwing for 427 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 15.8 yards per attempt. The contest was his third straight with three or more passing touchdowns dating back to last season.
The win for Hughson keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Mcdaniel and Hughson will head out to square off against Orestimba at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Sadly, Tommy Sutton posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Sonora over Hughson on Friday. Sutton rushed for 232 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (112.9) per game. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards.
Sonora's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-1. Sutton and Sonora will take on Ripon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Hilmar Gets a Boost from Ellerd in 21-13 Victory
Merek Ellerd was a major factor in Hilmar's victory over Orestimba on Friday. Ellerd did his part (and then some), rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, while also throwing for 111 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes for the 'W'.
Hilmar now has a winning record of 4-3. Ellerd will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Summerville on Friday.

Hughson Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Malakai Sumter
Malakai Sumter was instrumental in extending Hughson's winning streak to seven on Friday. Sumter was unstoppable, picking up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards.
