The Southmont Mounties''s four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 32-21 victory over Sullivan. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Southmont's seven-point performance the matchup before.
Southmont's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Stadler, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Woodall, who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Sullivan lost, one person who can't be blamed is James Propes. Despite the final result, he picked up 150 receiving yards and a touchdown. Laytin Huff was in the mix too, providing Sullivan with two touchdowns.
Southmont's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Sullivan, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.
Southmont has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Cascade at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Toby Savini and Woodall. Sullivan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
