The Matoaca Warriors had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-3 win over Fleming. Considering Matoaca has won seven contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Matoaca can attribute much of their success to Montino Williams jr, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
The win was the third in a row for Matoaca, bringing their record for this year to 10-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.33 points. As for Fleming, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.
Matoaca will head out on the road to face off against Stone Bridge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stone Bridge is on a five-game streak of home wins, Matoaca a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Fleming does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
