Brandon Easterly Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Starting off the list is Whitwell's Brandon Easterly, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Easterly rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 117 yards and a touchdown. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (109). He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 57 yards.
This is the second loss in a row for Whitwell and nudges their season record down to 6-2. Easterly and Whitwell will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Chattanooga Prep at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.

Marquis Gardner Has Career Rushing Day
Marquis Gardner's big game helped extend Chattanooga Prep's winning streak to six on Friday. Gardner rushed for 213 yards while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 95-yard run.
Chattanooga Prep pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Gardner's next matchup is against South Pittsburg on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

Mcdougal Made His Presence Known in Whitwell's 29-28 Loss
Another Whitwell player making an appearance on this list is Bennett Mcdougal. He rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 51 receiving yards. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble and made eight total tackles.
If the past is any indication, Mcdougal could be in store for another big game when he takes on Chattanooga Prep on Friday. Mcdougal rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry the last time he and the Sentinels duked it out back in October of 2023.

Cade Dean Makes Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Cade Dean of Copper Basin. Dean rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 54 yards.
If history really does repeat itself, Dean might just drop another big game when he faces off against Lookout Valley on Friday. Dean rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 130 yards and three touchdowns the last time he and the Yellowjackets duked it out back in October of 2023.
