The A&M Consolidated Tigers will square off against the Hays Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (A&M Consolidated has three straight victories, Hays has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
A&M Consolidated's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cedar Creek 49-0. Considering the Tigers have won four matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Camron Roston was his usual excellent self, rushing for 236 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Those 236 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Holt Goodwin was another key player, rushing for 22 yards and one touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: A&M Consolidated was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 423 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
A&M Consolidated didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kayden Steptoe, Darius Roberts, and Amarian Moore picked up one apiece. Roberts got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Hays ended up a good deal behind Anderson on Thursday and lost 29-14. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 365th, while the Trojans are ranked 78th).
Although Hays took the loss, they still got scores from Eyan Stigall and Miller Johnson.
A&M Consolidated's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Hays, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. A&M Consolidated has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 256.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hays struggles in that department as they've been averaging 183.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for A&M Consolidated against Hays in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-0 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
