Baseball Recap: Gladewater Extends Winning Streak to Three

Gladewater waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cushing Bearkats a 14-0 shutout. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 11 runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Mason Budro, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Aubry Floyd was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Gladewater always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cushing only posted an OBP of .000.

Gladewater's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Cushing, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Gladewater is taking a road trip to square off against Frankston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cushing, they will venture away from home to challenge Douglass at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cushing has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
