Meanwhile, Valley View faced Marion in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Blazers fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2. While the Blazers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 25-21 in the first set.
Valley View started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21, 15-7.
Valley View's defeat dropped their record down to 21-5. As for Greene County Tech, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 11-8.
