Faith Christian Academy is 0-10 against Hilltop Christian since November of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Faith Christian Academy Conquerors are taking a road trip to face off against the Hilltop Christian Chargers at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Faith Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Last Friday, Faith Christian Academy really took it to Gramercy Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-35 win. The Conquerors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Andrew Kelly, who went 9 of 11 on his way to 23 points. Another player making a difference was Ibn Triplin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards.
Meanwhile, Hilltop Christian came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 51-43 victory over the Patriots.
Faith Christian Academy better focus on containing Caleb Manriquez and Philip Joyner as the pair were huge in Hilltop Christian's win. Manriquez went 6 for 13 en route to 19 points and four steals, while Joyner went 5 of 10 on his way to 16 points. Manriquez has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Joseph McCabe was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.
Faith Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Hilltop Christian, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Faith Christian Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Hilltop Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Faith Christian Academy came up short against Hilltop Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 76-65. Can Faith Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
