Nandua is 9-1 against the Ponies since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Nandua Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Chincoteague Ponies at 7:00 p.m. Nandua will be strutting in after a victory while the Ponies will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Northampton scored an imposing 65 points on Thursday, Nandua still came out on top. Nandua secured a 70-65 W over the Yellowjackets.
Meanwhile, Chincoteague's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arcadia. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite their defeat, Chincoteague saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jake Harper, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Harper, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Nandua is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Chincoteague, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-9.
Nandua beat the Ponies 63-53 in their previous matchup last Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nandua since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
