The Yorktown Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Yorktown is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 17-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Yorktown was beaten by the Bobcats 61-32. Yorktown has struggled against the Bobcats recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Skidmore-Tynan's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 53-41 to Port Aransas.
Skidmore-Tynan's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Bennett Martinez, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, and Cole Rivers who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals. Rivers is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games he's played.
Skidmore-Tynan struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Yorktown's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Skidmore-Tynan, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-5.
Yorktown might still be hurting after the 65-43 loss they got from the Bobcats in their previous matchup back in January. Can Yorktown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
