SELMA, Ala. - the Volunteers scored 27 points in the first quarter to secure a big 34-7 victory over
Morgan Academy (Selma, Ala.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, Monroe Academy was up 34-0 at the half.
With the win the Monroeville school extended its winning streak to eight games. Monroe Academy defeated Clarke Prep 35-26 last week.
Morgan Academy's only touchdown came on a 36-yard pass from undefined to
Harrison Watters in the fourth quarter.
The Volunteers had given up an average of 14.6 points prior to the contest. Morgan Academy's seven points were well below their season average of 29.7 per game.
Monroe Academy also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 37-0.
