Liberty Union has been on the road for three straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Liberty Union focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
Liberty Union scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hamilton Township and snuck past 60-57. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Liberty Union has managed all season.
Liberty Union can attribute much of their success to Noah Shook, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Tomas Winter, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 5 assists. That's the first time this season that Shook grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Williams, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bloom-Carroll's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 55-47 to Teays Valley. While losing is never fun, Bloom-Carroll can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while Teays Valley is ranked 162nd).
Liberty Union's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Bloom-Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Liberty Union was dealt a bruising 73-43 defeat at the hands of Bloom-Carroll in their previous meeting back in January. Can Liberty Union avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
