Dexter has gone 9-1 against East Mountain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Demons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Timberwolves at 2:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dexter has four straight wins, East Mountain has 19 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If Dexter beats East Mountain with ten runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Demons came out on top against Ruidoso by a score of 10-6 on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Kaylonie Nevarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dexter let Melody Duran and Hannah Sanders run wild. Duran went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Sanders went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Duran has posted since back in March. Maddie Miller was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Dexter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, East Mountain came up short against St. Michael's on Tuesday, falling 26-5.
Dexter pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for East Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.
East Mountain's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dexter hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. It's a different story for East Mountain, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Dexter's hitters?
Everything went Dexter's way against East Mountain when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Dexter made off with an 18-0 victory. Will the Demons repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
