It's playoff time, and Evansville North had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the North Central Panthers get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Saturday. Not much got past Conner Watson, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep North Central off the board. Watson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Griffin Hall was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Renfro, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Evansville North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Central only posted a batting average of .045.
The win (which was Evansville North's sixth in a row) raised their record to 24-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for North Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-10 record.
