Even though the Howland Tigers have not done well against the Boardman Spartans recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, Howland made off with a 34-33 win over the Spartans. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Howland has scored all year.
Howland had a senior duo take command as John Perry scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and two steals and Alex Henry scored 11 points. Perry has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Chris Fenton was another key contributor, scoring three points.
