The Dos Pueblos Chargers will be taking part in a tournament against the Oaks Christian Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Dos Pueblos has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Oaks Christian will come in with four straight victories.
Dos Pueblos blew Royal out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Royal got their revenge. The Chargers fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 7-5.

Juliana Brunner put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Brooklyn Hedricks was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Anastasia Brunner, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, while Oaks Christian put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Sutter. The Lions blew past the Huskies 8-0.
Like Dos Pueblos, Oaks Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Sophia Debs. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave Debs a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Terrianna Kelley, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Reagan Beck was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Oaks Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sutter only posted a batting average of .048.
Dos Pueblos' loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Oaks Christian, their record now sits at 13-4.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dos Pueblos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Oaks Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dos Pueblos suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Oaks Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
