Athol is 1-6 against Franklin County Tech since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Athol Bears will look to defend their home court against the Franklin County Tech Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Athol focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 back in December of 2023.
After soaring to 59 points the game before, Athol were a bit more limited in their contest. They were dealt a 49-20 defeat at the hands of Franklin County Tech. Athol has struggled against Franklin County Tech recently, as their contest back in December of 2023 was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Anna Duquette, who scored three points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Duquette is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Bonenfant, who scored four points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Athol struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Franklin County Tech pulled down 25 offensive rebounds.
Athol's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-2. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.4 points per game. As for Franklin County Tech, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Athol took a serious blow against Franklin County Tech when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 49-20. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Franklin County Tech's Kaitlin Trudeau, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, ten rebounds, and 15 steals.
