Chittenango waltzed into their game  on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Oneida Express  a   7-0 shutout. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven  runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to  Julia Spencer's shutout, as she gave up just a  hit and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Chittenango got a big performance out of  Hannah Machan, who  went 1-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alivia Cavotta, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
Chittenango's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 5-1. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Oneida, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-2.
 Looking ahead, Chittenango will welcome Cicero-North Syracuse  at 11:45  a.m.  on Saturday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Northstars have averaged an impressive 11.2  runs per game this season. As for Oneida, they will venture away from home to  challenge East Syracuse-Minoa  at 11:00  a.m.  on  the 26th.
