Meanwhile, Mayfield faced Artesia in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Mayfield lost to Artesia at home by a 42-28 margin. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Belen's record is now 4-5. As for Mayfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
