The Adams City Eagles's five-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They breezed by Lincoln at home to the tune of 59-27. Adams City's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Adams City to victory were Fernanda Hernandez and Morgan Williams. Hernandez scored ten points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Williams scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least 25% of Adams City's points. Another player making a difference was Arianna Hernandez, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Several Lancers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aisha Alassani, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Amina Abdikadir was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Adams City's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Adams City won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Skyview at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Skyview is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against Manual at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Manual has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.
