The Cuthbertson Cavaliers were the 61-54 winner over the Sun Valley Spartans when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Cuthbertson lost to Sun Valley at home by a decisive 64-46 margin on Friday. Cuthbertson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cuthbertson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alexis Juhl, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Juhl has scored all season. Christian Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Tyra Robinson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sun Valley, scoring 17 points along with six assists and five steals. The game was Robinson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aree Meaders, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Cuthbertson's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-9. As for Sun Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Cuthbertson will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Marvin Ridge at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Marvin Ridge's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. Sun Valley is on the road again on Friday and play against Weddington at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th.
