Baseball Recap: Sackets Harbor Central Takes a Loss

Sackets Harbor Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Alexandria Central Purple Ghosts, falling 15-7. Surprisingly, this marked the Patriots' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Dean Mildren and Christian McKeever stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mildren went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while McKeever went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. McKeever is becoming a predictor of Sackets Harbor Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't).

Sackets Harbor Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Alexandria Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sackets Harbor Central will square off against South Lewis at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. As for Alexandria Central, they will head out on the road to face off against General Brown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
