Tim Bassett of Canton ran for the longest rushing play in Northern Tier - Small this season against Cowanesque Valley last week. Bassett ran for 53 yards on the play and finished with 120 on the day as his team defeated the Indians.
South Williamsport moved up to 187 from 218 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mountaineers climbed the ranks as a result of beating Muncy 50-20.
Canton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. John Bowman has thrown for 515 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Eddy Larcom has nine catches for 194 yards. Bassett leads the league in rushing with 318 yards.
A big matchup in Northern Tier - Small this week will be when Cowanesque Valley takes on South Williamsport. At the moment, Jeremy Loveland's team is in third, while Mike Pearson's team is in first.
The Mountaineers extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Indians, 50-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for South Williamsport.
