Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Kosciusko's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Kosciusko unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 50-40 to the Louisville Wildcats. The Whippets lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 56-23 score last time.

Despite the loss, Kosciusko saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaleysha Miller went 6 for 12 on her way to 15 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zanyla Peteet, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Kosciusko's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-3. As for Louisville, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Kosciusko will face off against Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Houston has won five straight at home, while Kosciusko won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Louisville, they will welcome Greenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Louisville is facing Greenwood at the right time seeing as Greenwood is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
