Winter Callahan was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Audrey Ferguson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Sydney Mosser was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Devine entered their tilt with Gonzales on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Apaches by a score of 10-5.
The team relied heavily on Maddie Brown, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Skylar Blanton, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Lago Vista's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-9. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Devine, their record is now 24-5.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lago Vista has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .535. However, it's not like Devine struggles in that department as they've averaged .465. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
