Felix Matos Has Career Rushing Day
Starting off the list is Phillipsburg's Felix Matos, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Matos made three total tackles, good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 92-yard run.
Phillipsburg pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Matos and Phillipsburg will challenge Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Performance from Jackson Jankowicz Leads Hillsborough over Bridgewater-Raritan
On Thursday, Hillsborough got the W thanks in part to Jackson Jankowicz playing the best football he has all season. Jankowicz rushed for 169 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 59 receiving yards and a touchdown. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 52 yards.
Bridgewater-Raritan's probably not too fond of Jankowicz given he always seems to get the better of them. When Jankowicz last faced the Panthers back in September of 2023, he rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.

Genovese Made His Presence Known in Phillipsburg's 49-14 Victory
The second Phillipsburg player making an appearance here is Jett Genovese, and for good reason. He rushed for 83 yards on only six carries, and also threw for 111 yards while completing 75% of his passes. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 77 yards.
For the year, Genovese has thrown 8 touchdowns while averaging 133.5 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 24.5 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 54.17 rushing yards.

Xander Borowski Makes It Two for Hillsborough
Another Hillsborough player making an appearance on this list is Xander Borowski. He picked up two sacks and made six total tackles. He is on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
This season, Borowski has averaged 6.9 total tackles per game and for the season has 6 sacks. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he had three sacks.
