Labette County is 8-2 against Chanute since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Labette County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Parsons 62-42. Labette County's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Among those leading the charge was Nevaeh Jones, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Landry Obrien was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chanute's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. Their tough 62-39 defeat to Fort Scott might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Chanute can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Fort Scott is ranked 41st).
Labette County's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Chanute, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
