The West Warwick Wizards pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of North Providence by a score of 61-58. West Warwick was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Several Wizards players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Viveiros, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Viveiros continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Owen Stearns was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
West Warwick's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for North Providence, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Warwick will take on the Oakers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Rhode Island (Coventry is ranked 26th, while the Wizards are ranked 28th). As for North Providence, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
