The Rondout Valley Ganders were the 55-37 winner over the New Paltz Huguenots when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Rondout Valley fell 50-38 to New Paltz on Friday.
New Paltz's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kalle Masseo led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Masseo has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Morales, who scored 17 points along with five steals.
Rondout Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for New Paltz, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-15.
Rondout Valley will square off against Marlboro Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marlboro Central will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Rondout Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Paltz, they will be playing at home against Red Hook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Paltz is coming into the matchup with nine straight victories at home, so Red Hook is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
