The Summit Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Middle Park Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Summit barely beat Eagle Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Devils 16-3 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

04/16/25 vs Battle Mountain | 2 |

Summit got a massive performance out of Matty Misch, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave Misch a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hogan Tobias, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Middle Park waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Saints.
Wyatt Guthrie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Guthrie was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Noah Hunter looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Middle Park: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 4-6 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Cruze Hanson and Joseph Gallegos did most of the damage at the plate: Hanson went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Gallegos got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Those stolen bases marked the first that Gallegos has snagged this season.
Middle Park's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs across that stretch. As for Summit, their record is now 13-5.
Middle Park's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Summit has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Middle Park, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Summit keep running through batters, or will the Panthers buck the trend?
Summit came out on top in a nail-biter against Middle Park in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
