With a playoff game on the line, the Jasper Bulldogs rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Gobblers 28-7. Considering Jasper has won seven matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jasper's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zykeelan Hadnot, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Raja Garza-Adams, who picked up 48 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Jasper's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.7 points per game. As for Cuero, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-1.
Jasper will square off against Bellville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bellville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Jasper likes a good challenge. Cuero does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
