The Balko Bison are on the road again on Thursday and plays the Lomega Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on February 15th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Balko rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Bison 53-29. Balko pushed the score to 41-20 by the end of the third, a deficit Buffalo had little chance of recovering from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Balko to victory, but perhaps none more so than Estrella Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. Martinez hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Emelie Trentham, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Lomega at home against Vici on Saturday as the team secured a 90-31 victory. Given Lomega's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Vici is ranked 359th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Balko has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Lomega, they pushed their record up to 24-2 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home.
