Meanwhile, Fleming Island fell victim to Beachside and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Barracudas, falling 6-0. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Keystone Heights' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Fleming Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
Fleming Island's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Keystone Heights has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435.
