The Fulshear Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 25 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Lamar Consolidated 72-36 on the road. Given Fulshear's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Lamar Consolidated is ranked 1174th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fulshear to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ruke Ogbevire, who scored 25 points along with five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ogbevire has scored at least 25% of Fulshear's points. Jada Morgan was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Fulshear's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Lamar Consolidated, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Fulshear's road trip will continue as they head out to face Westside at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Westside will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Lamar Consolidated, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bellaire at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bellaire focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
