The Circle Christian Centurions will head out on the road to challenge the Lake Mary Prep Griffins at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Circle Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
Circle Christian proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Orlando Christian Prep 7-5.
Circle Christian's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elliot Rosario, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Caleb Faris also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Mary Prep). Everything went their way against Central Florida Christian Academy on Thursday as Lake Mary Prep made off with a 14-4 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Griffins have posted since April 12, 2024.
Malachi Beedle and Landon Trauger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Beedle tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Trauger struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). At bat, Beedle scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Trauger scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brodie Bouley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Jaxson Roicki, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Lake Mary Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Lake Mary Prep's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Circle Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Everything went Circle Christian's way against Lake Mary Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Circle Christian made off with a 19-8 victory. Does Circle Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lake Mary Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
