There's no place like home for the Wright Red Devils, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down Dollar Bay 43-29 on Friday. Given Wright's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Dollar Bay is ranked 593rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dollar Bay's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiera Isaacson, who scored four points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Adelyn Swain, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Wright pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Dollar Bay, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wright will square off against Lake Linden-Hubbell at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Lake Linden-Hubbell is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Dollar Bay, they will head out on the road to square off against Ontonagon at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Ontonagon is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
