Two dominant guards in Tyler Cox and Logan Boyer are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Falcon Falcons will challenge the Palmer Ridge Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Falcon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Palmer Ridge likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, Falcon greeted the New Year with with a 72-56 victory over Air Academy. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Kadets are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Christian Bertholf was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 10 en route to 21 points and eight rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cox, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds.
Falcon was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Palmer Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of Fruita Monument.
Falcon will have to contain Boyer as he made an impact in Palmer Ridge's last game. He went 6 of 13 on his way to 18 points and four steals. That's the most steals Boyer has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Chaz Connors, who put up nine points and six rebounds.
Falcon now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Palmer Ridge, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Falcon has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Palmer Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 20.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything went Falcon's way against Palmer Ridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as Falcon made off with a 76-54 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Falcon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
